Hilton Head Island Ambassador Program
The goal of the Hilton Head Island Ambassador Certification Program is to raise the level of awareness and service of the local hospitality industry by instilling a sense of ownership and pride in the Hilton Head Island area. The program represents an ongoing education, recognition, and reward program for businesses, employees, residents, and visitors. It is not the Association’s goal to provide unlimited information, but instead to raise an individual’s awareness of their community – its uniqueness, its opportunities and resources.
This program, created and executed by the Hilton Head Area Hospitality Association, provides a centralized, standardized educational and customer service program for restaurants, retail, lodging properties, residents, and visitors. The Association began offering Level I in September 2003 and Level II in December 2004. The organization continues to provide monthly opportunities for each of these programs. However, there is an exponential difference in the curriculum delivered in 2003 and the content of what a participant experiences in 2007. Beginning in January 2007 the Association shifted the delivery of the Level I program to include a Chamber brand culturalization presentation and an expanded version of the island’s history delivered by the Coastal Discovery Museum. In May 2007 an arts and cultural presentation will be added to Level I through a partnership with the Hilton Head Symphony and Orchestra. Plans for the delivery of additional levels of the Island Ambassador Program are intended to commence in June 2007.
